How Deep the Father's Love for Me

In all my life I am thankful for so many things; big and small.
But I am most grateful to the Lord for showing me how broken I am. Because it makes grace that much sweeter. I am a sinner through and through. But he loves me enough to have sent his son to die on a cross, for me! I hear the Gospel everyday, and it still brings me close to tears.
But no longer are they tears of shame and sorrow. They are tears of joy for this gift. And tears for my brothers who do not know Christ. I am praying for the lost. That He would reveal Himself to them in ways they cannot ignore. If he has invaded my stubborn heart and soul, I know He can do it to anyone.
How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure
How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory
Behold the Man upon the cross
My sin upon His shoulders
Ashamed to hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers
It was my sin that kept Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished
I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no power, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom
