"There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal"
                                                         - Lord Byron

  • Improvise recipes. You may be pleasantly surprised! But be sure to write down what you did. And if you don't have the utensils called for, try to see if you can accomplish the same result with something else. Your zucchini bread might just be chunky instead of with slivers, but just as delicious.
  • Make hot chocolate that is way too hot to drink, then throw in 2-3 frozen strawberries as ice cubes. So good! Tastes like chocolate covered strawberries.
  • Take advantage of community gardens.
  • Pick wildflowers. Black-eyed Susans, sweet peas, lavender, daisies, etc. Seriously worth it to brighten up a room.
  • Suede shoes. I now own 4 pairs in various colors including mustard, burgundy, and mint. Invest.
